About – RC Hyatt
R.C. Hyatt has been a teacher and leader at Mansueto High School since 2019. He has taught 12th grade Co-Taught, College Prep, and Advanced Placement Comparative Government and Politics, 11th grade IB History of the Americas and AP U.S. History, and 10th Grade Math Intervention, and graduated his first advisory in 2023. He has also led in the roles of Dean of Instruction and Assistant Principal of Academics before assuming the role of Principal. In these leadership roles, he has led the adoption of standards-based grading, which has narrowed equity gaps across identity markers and improved outcomes on end-of-year assessments.
Prior to joining 911±¬ÁÏÍø, he served as a 2010 Teach For America corps member in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he taught High School Mathematics. He then taught 6th and 8th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies with the KIPP network in Charlotte and Chicago. He is a proud alumnus of the University of Central Florida, where he studied History and Latin American Studies. In his free time, he is busy as a dad of three ¡ª ages 9, 7, and 2.
