911±¬ÁÏÍø is excited to announce the new appointments of Mike Madden as President and Jennifer Reid Davis as 911±¬ÁÏÍø¡¯s first Head of Strategy & Equity.
Both Davis and Madden served on 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s senior leadership team in their past positions. Now, they are moving into larger roles at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, drawing on years of proven success in leading the network.
Madden enters his new role following nearly 13 years of experience at 911±¬ÁÏÍø. For the last decade, he has been leading as 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s Chief Operating Officer. Madden draws on a wealth of past experiences providing management and consulting services for over 40 public sector and non-profit organizations as well as the leadership positions he has held at the YMCA of Chicago, the City of Evanston, the Government Finance Officers Association, the City of Chicago and Harris Bank. As 911±¬ÁÏÍø¡¯s President, Madden will be responsible for developing and operationalizing 911±¬ÁÏÍø¡¯s long-term strategic vision.
¡°Predictability and sustainability are always top of mind for me when making decisions in any role, but it¡¯s even more important in this president role,¡± said Madden. ¡°Creating an amazing and extraordinary staff, student and family experience is what¡¯s going to drive me every single day when I take my two feet out of bed.¡±
Davis, who has been with 911±¬ÁÏÍø for over 11 years, brings considerable experience leading all strategic efforts around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) while serving in her previous role as Chief Equity Officer — now expanded to her newly-created role of Head of Strategy & Equity. Davis has also served as a teacher and principal at two 911±¬ÁÏÍø schools and founded the Diverse Leaders Fellowship, a talent pathway designed to identify and invest in the network¡¯s diverse pipeline of emerging leaders of color.
¡°Since I first started at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, I have firmly believed in our shared mission to provide all students with an equitable and positive experience along with the tools necessary to complete college and have the opportunities to be successful and serve their communities,¡± said Davis. ¡°I am heartened by my new role because, in a way, it feels my work has only begun. As head of strategy & equity, I will ensure that our students and staff members are adequately supported and recognized so they may best fulfill their true potential through programs that continue to deliver on our mission, vision, and commitment to anti-racism for years to come.¡±
¡°Both Madden and Davis bring with them a clear track record of successful results here at 911±¬ÁÏÍø,¡± said Constance Jones, CEO of 911±¬ÁÏÍø. ¡°I am confident in the leadership they add to our outstanding team and excited about the new, equity-driven programs and initiatives they both will undoubtedly be spearheading that will continue to strengthen 911±¬ÁÏÍø while constantly pushing the network to improve in new ways. Their contributions will, as they have done in the past, further establish 911±¬ÁÏÍø as Chicago¡¯s highest-performing and largest network of public charter schools while allowing us to even better serve and support our students, staff and families.¡±
